Jobscan Alternatives in 2026: 7 Tools Compared on Price and What They Actually Do

Seven Jobscan alternatives compared on free plans, prices and how each matches your résumé to a job, with an honest note on when Jobscan is still the pick.

11 min read

TL;DR: People leave Jobscan for three reasons: the price ($49.95 a month), the small free plan, and the fact that it scores your résumé rather than rewriting it. The alternatives below each fix one or more of those. SkillSyncer is the closest like-for-like scanner at a lower price. Resume Worded adds coaching-style feedback. Rezi, Kickresume and Teal build or rewrite the résumé for you. Enhancv focuses on design. OneResume rewrites from your real history and checks that nothing is invented. Prices and plans are as of 20 October 2026, from each vendor's own pages.

Key takeaways

  • Jobscan Premium is $49.95 a month or $89.95 a quarter, with a limited free plan. Most alternatives are cheaper, and several have more useful free plans.
  • Decide first whether you want a score (what is missing) or a rewrite (the résumé, changed). The tools split cleanly along that line.
  • SkillSyncer is the closest match to Jobscan's core scanner, at $14.95 a month.
  • Rezi, Kickresume, Teal and OneResume rewrite or generate résumé content for a job.
  • Only some tools say anything about not inventing experience: Kickresume has a conservative mode, and OneResume fact-checks every rewrite against your profile.
  • Jobscan is still the pick for a detailed keyword report with ATS-specific tips and a free tracker.

Why people look for a Jobscan alternative

Jobscan is a good diagnostic tool. You paste your résumé and a job description and it shows a match rate, recommending 75% or higher, with a breakdown of the hard skills, job title, soft skills and keywords you are missing. Our Jobscan review covers it in detail. The reasons people move on are consistent:

  1. Price. $49.95 a month on monthly billing is at the top of this category.
  2. The free plan. A limited number of scans a month, and rescans count against them.
  3. Scoring is not rewriting. Jobscan tells you what is missing. Its AI Optimize suggests edits on Premium, but you still do the tailoring, one application at a time.
  4. Refunds. Jobscan considers refunds only within 2 calendar days, if you haven't used the service in that period, with a 3.5% fee.

None of these make Jobscan a bad tool. They make it the wrong tool for some searches.

How we judged

We make OneResume, one of the tools on this list, so we kept the comparison to facts each vendor publishes about itself. Every price, plan limit and feature below comes from the vendor's own pricing, product or help pages, checked on 20 October 2026, and is listed under Sources. Where we could not load a vendor's page, we say so. We did not use third-party ratings or user counts. For each tool we looked at four things:

  • Free plan: what you can actually do without paying.
  • Cheapest paid plan: and how it is billed.
  • How it matches you to a job: a score and keyword list, a rewrite, or both.
  • Honesty guardrails: whether the tool says anything about not inventing experience.

SkillSyncer: the closest like-for-like

SkillSyncer describes itself as "a free ATS resume scanner and AI optimization tool," and it is the nearest thing to Jobscan's core at a lower price. The free plan includes two job match scans and ten AI credits a week. Premium is $14.95 a month, or $34.86 billed quarterly, and adds live match scoring as you type and AI rewrites for weak verbs and missing numbers.

Better than Jobscan for: price, and a free plan that resets weekly. Watch out for: it is still a scanner first; the rewriting help is line by line, not a full tailored résumé.

Resume Worded: feedback and coaching

Resume Worded calls itself "your personal resume and LinkedIn coach." Its Targeted Resume (Smart Target) report "shows your relevancy score, every keyword you match, and every one you are missing," which is close to Jobscan's match report, alongside its broader résumé and LinkedIn feedback. The full Targeted Resume report and the AI writer are Pro features. Pro costs $49 a month, $99 every three months or $229 a year.

Better than Jobscan for: coaching-style feedback on your résumé and LinkedIn, and the annual option for a longer search. Watch out for: the monthly price is about the same as Jobscan's, and its terms say it is unable to give refunds to first-time buyers.

Teal: tracker first, résumé second

Teal's job tracker is its center of gravity, with résumé tools around it. Teal's pages blocked our checks on 20 October 2026, so these facts come from Teal's own pages as shown in search results that day: the free plan lets you create and download unlimited résumés and shows the top five keywords from each job description; Teal+ shows every keyword and is priced at $13 a week, $29 every 30 days or $79 every 90 days.

Better than Jobscan for: organizing a large search, and a free plan with no time limit. Watch out for: the full keyword list and AI tailoring sit behind Teal+. We compare it with OneResume in OneResume vs Teal and list more options in Teal alternatives.

Rezi: AI-written résumés, one-time payment

Rezi's pitch is "the resume that actually gets you the interview." It "checks and perfectly tailors your resume with keywords for the job you want," with a Rezi Score built on 23 metrics. The free plan includes one résumé, one AI interview and three PDF downloads. Pro is $29 a month, and there is a $149 lifetime plan, which is unusual in this category. Rezi offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on paid plans and lists a Rezi Resume MCP for managing résumés inside AI assistants.

Better than Jobscan for: generating résumé content rather than scoring it, the lifetime option, and a far longer refund window. Watch out for: keyword tailoring writes toward the posting; check every line against what you have actually done. More in OneResume vs Rezi and Rezi alternatives.

Kickresume: design plus AI tailoring

Kickresume is free as long as you don't choose paid customization options. Its tailoring tool works the way most people want a Jobscan alternative to work: "Simply paste the job post, and our AI will rewrite your CV to match." Credit where due: Kickresume offers a Conservative mode that, in its words, "doesn't invent or oversell." Regular prices are $24 a month on monthly billing, $18 a month quarterly and $8 a month yearly (on 20 October it showed a 20% limited-time discount), with a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Better than Jobscan for: templates and design, an actual rewrite, and a low yearly price. Watch out for: the conservative mode is a setting you choose. More in OneResume vs Kickresume and Kickresume alternatives.

Enhancv: polished, visual résumés

Enhancv positions itself as an ATS-friendly online résumé builder with a strong design focus. Its pricing page says you can "instantly see a match score, receive keyword recommendations" for a job. The free plan is valid for seven days with a maximum of 12 section items and Enhancv branding. Paid plans are billed monthly, quarterly or every six months; the prices did not display on its pricing page during our check, so we haven't quoted them.

Better than Jobscan for: a résumé that looks designed, built in the same tool that checks it. Watch out for: the short free window, and confirm on the pricing page which plan includes the match features.

OneResume: tailoring without inventing anything

This is our product, so read this section with that in mind. OneResume starts from a master profile of your full history. Paste a job description or a link to the posting and it rewrites your résumé for that job in about a minute: it reads the posting for skills, keywords and level, leads with the work that matches, and uses the posting's words for things you have actually done. Before you see the result, a check compares every number, tool and skill in the rewrite with your profile, and anything your profile doesn't contain is rewritten or held back. Then it scores the result.

The free ATS résumé checker shows your score and the top issues with no account. The free plan includes one fact-checked tailored résumé a month (two in your first month). Pro is $19 a month for unlimited tailoring, cover letters, Word export and a job tracker, and it connects to Claude, ChatGPT and Grok so you can tailor from the AI assistant you already use.

Better than Jobscan for: applying to many jobs without an evening of edits each, price, and a rewrite you can trust to be true. Watch out for: OneResume scores with its own Pass-Through and Role Fit model rather than a keyword match rate, and its tracker is a Pro feature where Jobscan's is free. The full side-by-side is in OneResume vs Jobscan.

What to check in any Jobscan alternative

Feature lists look alike in this category. Five questions separate the tools that will help from the ones that won't:

  • Where does the rewrite get its facts? A tool that rewrites only the document you upload can only reshuffle that page. One that works from a full profile of your history can bring forward a project or result you left off.
  • What stops it inventing things? Ask whether anything checks the output against what you have actually done, or whether that is left to you. A tailored résumé with a skill you don't have is worse than an untailored one.
  • What does the free plan really allow? Count scans, rewrites and downloads, and check whether they reset weekly, monthly or never.
  • How is it billed, and what are the refund terms? Weekly, monthly, quarterly and lifetime pricing all exist here, and refund windows range from none to 30 days.
  • Can you get your résumé out? PDF is standard; Word export matters if a recruiter or application form asks for .docx.

Which alternative should you choose?

  • You liked Jobscan's report but not the price: SkillSyncer.
  • You want coaching-style feedback on your résumé and LinkedIn: Resume Worded.
  • You are running a big search and need organization most: Teal.
  • You want an AI-written résumé and prefer to pay once: Rezi.
  • You care about design and want a rewrite: Kickresume or Enhancv.
  • You are applying widely and want each résumé tailored and true: OneResume.

When to stay with Jobscan

Fairly put: Jobscan is still the best fit if you want the most detailed keyword breakdown in this group, tips adjusted to the employer's applicant tracking system, and a free job tracker with a Chrome extension, and you are happy to do the editing yourself during a short, focused search. If that's you, the quarterly plan ($89.95 for three months) is better value than monthly billing.

A two-week test before you commit

  1. Day 1: take one real posting you care about and your current résumé. Run them through two free plans from the list.
  2. Check the output against your history. Does every rewritten line describe something you did? Would you defend each number in an interview?
  3. Time it. How long from posting to a résumé you would send?
  4. Days 2–14: keep the tool that gave you a true, tailored résumé fastest, and only then pay for it.
